 | Familiarize yourself with the
Math Online Web.
Lots of information about my online classes is listed there!
|
 | Check-out your specific class website linked from the
Math Online Web.
Be sure to read the math online syllabus and your specific class syllabus both
linked from your class website.
|
 | Purchase access to MyMathLab*. MyMathLab access is required for all classes. MML provides access to
the entire textbook online so the hard copy textbook is completely optional.
The quizzes and exams will be conducted in MML. Detailed information about
MyMathLab is stated in the "course materials" section of your class syllabus.
*Note: You do not need to purchase another MML code if you are continuing in the
same text, e.g. if you are taking math 095 after math 090 in the same text.
|
 | Your MyMathLab course will become available usually about
one week prior to the start of class.
Register with MML to establish
your account at that time. The complete directions along with the MyMathLab
Course ID that you will need are stated in the "course materials" section
of your class syllabus.
|
 | Purchase any other supplemental materials required for your
class (see the "course
materials" section of your class syllabus).
|
 | The first day orientation includes having to
post an
introductory biography to the discussion board on BlackBoard, so you could write that ahead of time if you want and then just
cut 'n paste to post it to class on the first day. (It is expected to be at
least 100 words and include a brief statement about your experience with
online classes and/or why you chose to take this class online.)
|
