Overview

Continuing our work with polynomials, in this lesson we focus on multiplication of monomials and smaller polynomials. The skills here extend your knowledge of working with exponents nicely so it may help to review the "rules of exponents".

Objectives

By the end of this topic you should know and be prepared to be tested on:

• 6.4.1 Multiply two or more monomials applying the product rule of exponents as needed
• 6.4.2 Use the distributive law to multiply a monomial by a polynomial
• 6.4.3 Use the horizontal method to multiply two binomials (or larger polynomials)
